The EMPRI Firefly Team has taken a commendable initiative by establishing the Firefly Asian-Association, formerly known as the Firefly Asia-Pacific Network in 2023. This Association aims to create awareness about fireflies, protect and conserve them, and conduct detailed research on them by collaborating and networking among interested individuals. The Association also encourages the involvement of young researchers, naturalists, biologists, and wildlife enthusiasts to share their ideas and create a strong network for further study particularly in Asian countries. This Association is significant because it’ll activate networking and ignite interest to study and conserve fireflies among firefly workers across Asia. People from Asian countries can become members of this Association. Dr. A K Chakravarthy and Mr. Parvez have initiated this network.
